Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday told the All Progressives Congress’ lawmakers in the National Assembly to accept the party’s superiority in the interest of democracy.
According to the President who was speaking at the ongoing meeting of National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) holding in Abuja, party members must put whatever interest they have in their “pocket” and accept the supremacy of the party.
“Whatever your personal interests, put them in your pocket. Let APC work. Let the system work.
“I appeal to you to accept the superiority of the party. I cannot confine myself in Sambisa Forest and refuse to participate in the meeting because I respect the superiority of the party”.
At the meeting are the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, members of the National Working Committee of the party, the 22 APC Governors, APC State Chairmen and representatives from the zones.
