Federal Government workers’ salaries for the month of October will be paid today (Tuesday) November 3, according to Presidency.
This was disclosed through a statement issued by Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
According to him, the delay in paying salary late was inadvertently caused by unforeseen technical challenges.
“The salary will now be paid following the restoration of the computers that crashed as the salaries were about being paid last month”, he stated.
The statement added that the President “is seriously concerned about the ordeals of civil servants on account of delayed payment of salaries.”
It explained further that the happiness and welfare of the people are among the cardinal objectives of any democratically elected government.
The statement also emphasised that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to these objectives not only on paper but also in practice.
It further stated that he thanked Nigerians for their patience and understanding, adding that empathy would be the guiding philosophy of the Buhari administration.
