Brazil 2014: Sepp Blatter Praises Efficient Organisation of World Cup

The President Of the International Federation of Football Associations, Sepp Blatter, has hailed the ongoing World Cup in Brazil as a great success, while also insulting critics who said that protests and infrastructure problems could mar the tournament.
There were a lot of uncertainty in months heading to the tournament; problems with construction work on the stadia persisting, amidst numerous protests by citizens challenging the cost of hosting the competition.
The 78-year-old swiss has now praised the level of organisation of the World Cup as there has been almost no issues since it started.
“Everyone was wrong,” Blatter said at a seminar in Rio de Janeiro. “I’m not saying it’s perfect. But everyone said that the stadiums wouldn’t be ready on time. They’re ready and today Brazil has stadiums which are works of art.
“Where are the protests? Where is the social rage? The World Cup is more than a success and I’m happy that Fifa is part of it. There are still eight games [to go]. Fingers crossed that they will be on the same level and have the same atmosphere as the others.”
