Brazil 2014: Senate President leads FG’s delegation to support Super Eagles

Senate President, David Mark, on Tuesday, led a high-powered Federal Government delegation to the 2014 FIFA soccer world cup in Brazil.
This was revealed in statement issued today, Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh in Abuja.
In the statement, it was revealed that Senate president journey was as a result of a letter from President Goodluck Jonathan, mandating Senate president to lead the government delegation that will cheer Super Eagles at World Cup.
On the trip with Senator David Mark are, Chairman Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Adamu Gumba and his House of Representatives’ counterpart, Geofrey Gaiya; Governors of Cross River state, Liyel Imoke; Katsina state, Shehu Shema; Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed; and his counterpart in the Culture and Tourism ministry, Edem Duke.
Others include, Sports Minister, Tamuno Danagogo, Minister of Youths Development, Boni Haruna; Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Professor Viola Onwuliri, and a Commissioner of Police, Kola Sodipo.
The Senate president according to the statement, is expected to deliver President Jonathan’s goodwill message to the players and officials and also hold pep talks with them ahead of their opening game.
The delegation will attend the opening ceremony and watch Super Eagles match with Bosnia before returning to Nigeria.
