Bombs Explode at Monday Market in Maiduguri
An explosion occurred at the Monday Market in Maiduguri, Borno state, on Tuesday, when two female bombers detonated bombs and killed more than 100 people while the third suicide bomber was apprehended before she could detonate her bomb.
A source present near the venue during the attack said that one of the explosions took place at a roundabout close in the largest market in Maiduguri metropolis.
“There was a bomb blast in Monday market branch; The bomb shook the entire market,” he said. “The fire service station at the market and heavy military presence around the area are busy moving dead bodies out of the area. Many shops were destroyed; the casualty level is very high although it is yet to be determined.”
