Boko Haram overruns Bama as scores feared dead
Scores of people were feared dead and many others injured in two separate attacks on Friday evening in Bama town and Koshebe village of Mafa Local Government Areas of Borno State, reports TVC.
According to the report quoting security sources, most of the victims of the Bama attack were military personnel while, those in Koshebe are civilians.
Although the sources could not be drawn into giving figures of casualties they however, say the number of deaths and injured are high.
A hospital source at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital also collaborated that the victims brought in from Bama are many and mostly soldiers.
This latest attacks came just a day after similar incidents in Kukawa,Monguno, Malari in Konduga and Marring town of Biu Local Government Area claimed over two hundred lives.
Bama is a forty-five minutes drive from Maiduguri on the south-east and recently recaptured from the hands of insurgents while Koshebe,a
village situated in Mafa on the eastern part is just few kilometers away from the State Capital.
Effort to get the Military authorities in Maiduguri speak on the two incidents failed due to poor telecommunications services in the State.
Meanwhile, heavy military presence were noticed in Maiduguri over the last two days and sources close to security authorities say,they are
part of the troops deployed to the State in preparation for the final push against insurgency by the Nigerian Government.
