Boko Haram attacks Borno church, kills nine
Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded opened fire on a church service in the northeast Nigerian village of Attangara, killing nine worsippers.
The armed insurgents stormed the church service, shooting sporadically.
The attack took place in Attangara village, close to the Gwoza hills and near Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.
“As we were holding service, we started hearing gunshots and everybody fled, some through the windows, and ran into bush,” a resident of the village, Matha Yohana, told Reuters on Monday.
Reuters equally said a police source confirmed nine persons were killed in the assault.
