Atiku Sues for Peace between Amosun and Osoba; Applauds APC Governors for Development of their States
Former Vice-President and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Party (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has bemoaned the defection of former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba.
Atiku, who said Osoba’s defection to the Social Democratic Party, was “regrettable and unfortunate”, however said he believes the former governor and the present Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, can still settle their feud so the party can secure his safe return.
He said: “I’m the Chairman of the South West Reconciliation Committee (of APC). But we also had to set up an elder sub-committee of that committee to try and see if there will be what I call an internal reconciliation before the bigger committee looks at the reconciliation process.
“It is regrettable and unfortunate but I believe it is a situation that is still reconcilable. This is a situation that has been going on for some time and we have not given up”.
Atiku also addressed the campaign organisation of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Transformation Agenda, calling their claims lies and deceit to the Nigerian people.
“PDP will talk on the television that they have done this and that, but they do nothing. They have failed. But if you go to the APC states, honestly, you will see, you’ll feel the kind of transformation that is going on.
“They call themselves transformers while we call ourselves progressives because transformation goes with progressiveness, but their own transformation goes with backwardness.
“I have said it over and over again because I have visited APC and PDP states. If you go to Sokoto, Lagos, Rivers, Zamfara, Kano, you’ll really, see, feel and touch, not what they tell you on the television”.
