Kaduna Governor and Former NSA Died in Chopper Crash
The Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa, and former National Security Adviser, retired General Andrew Owoeye Azazi and their aides died when a naval chopper carrying them to Bayelsa crashed on Saturday.
The duo were on their way to attend the burial of the father of presidential aide Oronto Douglas in Okoroba Bayelsa state.
Just last week, the President, Goodluck Jonathan, who is also a native of the South south State of Bayelsa lost his brother to the cold hands of death.
Saturday’s crash has added to the long list of calamities in the aviation sector. Governor Suntai of Taraba State almost lost his life a month ago in a similar circumstance when his chopper crash landed. He is still receiving medical care in Germany. Reports even have it that he is yet to recognise anyone.
