The Anambra state chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA,  has announced the rescheduling of its House of Assembly primary elections in nine constituencies to December 8.

The elections were rescheduled as some aspirants and party leaders complained that the Decemeber 3 elections were not upstanding in their areas.

The Chairman of the national panel for the state assembly primaries, Prof. Bernard Odoh, said that these petitions bordered largely on discrepancies in delegates list and non-appearance of contestants’ pictures on the ballot papers.

The affected constituencies are Onitsha South 1, Anaocha 1, Orumba North, Onitsha North 1, Onitsha North 11, Dunukofia, Aguata 1, Idemili South and Nnewi South.

He said: “We conducted the exercise under the best practices, given the materials and information available to us since we arrived in Anambra on Tuesday.

“Every participant in the primary was given a fair chance to contest. The rescheduled exercise was due to the interest we have in the dissenting voices as the party was poised to lead the way to fair, free, credible and acceptable elections.’’
