Amosun Hosts Party Faithfuls And Associates
Former Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, on Wednesday played host to political associates across the 236 wards of the State. The meeting which was held at his Ibara GRA home was attended by many leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Speaking at the event, Senator Tolu Odebiyi expressed his happiness for the get together and prayed that the Country prospers. Others who spoke at the event commended Amosun for his unalloyed commitment for development of the State and the nation at large as well as his uncommon love for his friends and associates.
Barrister Biyi Otegbeye, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 elections commended the people for their steadfastness. He said the meeting was a welcome development which created opportunity to meet after a very long time.
Former gubernatorial candidate on the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in the state, Otunba Rotimi Paseda appreciated the people for standing firm with Amosun.
“ I am happy to be here today. I am here as a member of Amosun Political family because he is my mentor and leader”, Paseda noted.
Senator Iyabode Anisulowo in her remarks said she was not there for politics but as a friend to Amosun because if it was for political reasons, she wouldn’t be there.
“There will always be factions in politics,even in families, there are factions. However, you have to be known with a particular faction. You don’t have to always eat everywhere you see food. Amosun is a reliable friend who is worth every ounce of loyalty. I am not here for politics because if it was, I wouldn’t be here. Politicians always go to where they would get immediate benefits”, Anisulowo said.
In his address, Amosun said the get together was a way to thank people for their love over time.
“This meeting and get-together is to wish ourselves a happy new year. I want to use this opportunity to send you to the people who couldn’t make it to this event that I appreciate all of them
“I am happy to see everyone and to say that I don’t take your support for granted. I want you to go back home and pick one person from each ward for an important gift. That makes 236 people. The gifts are ready and if the names are ready today, they can get them today”, Amosun noted.
