Amosun gives housing, car loans to civil servants

Ibikunle AmosunGovernor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has approved housing and car loans to civil servants in the state.

The governor announced this on Wednesday at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, during the Public Service Day Celebration tagged ‘A day with Mr. Governor.’

Amosun, who was answering questions  put to him by the civil servants, said he was committed to their welfare.

According to him, the car loan ranges between N2m  for workers on levels 16 and 17, N1.5m  for workers on levels 13 to 15 and N1m for levels 7 to 12 while levels 1-6 will access N500,000 each.

For the housing loan, workers on levels 16 and 17 will get N5m, while those on levels 12 to 15 will get N3.5m each.

Those on levels 7 to 10 will access N2m while levels 1-6 get N1m each. But they could only start drawing these loans in October.

Amosun also announced reduction in the purchase of units at the  Laderin workers estate.

A three -bedroom bungalow, which was earlier put at N6.8m, was reduced to N5.5m while a two- bedroom bungalow now sells for N5m instead of N6.1m.

The governor also reduced the initial down payment from 20 per cent by the Federal Mortgage Bank to 10 per cent, explaining that housing project must be a social service.
