Amosun denies storming out of Abuja APC meeting

Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has said he did not storm out of the stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress held in Abuja last Tuesday.
He said this on Friday at the ‘Mission to Rebuild’ hall, Ibara, Abeokuta, while briefing APC leaders in the state on the outcome of the crucial meeting.
Amosun who described the statement reported in one of national newspapers that he stormed out of the Abuja meeting, said he had great respect not only for the party, but its state and national executive members.
He said, “I left the venue of the meeting after due permission from the interim national chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, who presided over the meeting.”
Amosun explained he had informed everyone at the meeting that he would leave early because of preparations for the Investors Forum holding in the state the following day.
He said, “It will be wrong for anyone or group to say, write or insinuate that I stormed out of the meeting when I actually received the permission of our revered party chairman, Chief Bisi Akande.”
On hiss relationship with Chief Olusegun Osoba, a chieftain of APC and former civilian governor of the state, governor at the forum told the party stakeholders that he informed the national leadership of the party that he had done everything to carry along the state leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, but it seemed the moves had not worked.
Osoba had recently noted while addressing party faithful at his Ibara home that Amosun had sidelined those who worked for his victory in 2011, and advised him to allow reason to prevail, but appealed to them not to dump the party for either Peoples Democratic Party or Labour Party.
A chieftain of APC who did not want his name mentioned, told NigerianEcho APC need to watch it. “The two leaders and other leaders following them must come to term that, their crisis if unresolved will give opposition upper hand in the state. The governor and Osoba if they love the party must sheath their fighting sword”. He said.
