Aminu Tambuwal Meets with Oyegun to Discuss Impeachment Threats after National Assembly Chaos
The controversial Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal reportedly held a private meeting with the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.
The APC stalwarts had met to discuss the chaos in the House of Representatives and impeachment threats by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. They also talked about his gubernatorial interest in Sokoto state.
Regarding the meeting, the national publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, confirmed the meeting, saying: “Tambuwal is the Speaker. He can see the national chairman of the party anytime. Don’t forget that the battle today has shifted to the National Assembly.
“The political battle today is no longer in the state; it is at the centre and at the National Assembly especially the House of Representatives.
“So, normally, you are going to see the Speaker in constant consultation with the National Chairman and the leadership, of the party.”
