Alleged students ritual killing: Ogun CP orders through investigation

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abdulmajid Ali, has ordered thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Fatai Raimi, a student of one of the public secondary schools in Abeokuta and two others injured or sick students who were allegedly involved in a money ritual recently.

The order, according to the police spokesman, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, came as a result of various conflicting facts or news on the death and circumstances surrounding the case of alleged money ritual process or killing carried out by some secondary school students in Abeokuta after which the said student was confirmed dead.

Adejobi stated that, Commissioner of Police has made it clear that it’s the responsibility of the Police to unravel the circumstances and get clear fact of the incident so as to put the record straight and eventually prosecute anyone found wanting.

 He has directed that the case be transferred from Adatan Division of the Command to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Eleweran Abeokuta and that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, DCP Shina Olukolu, should personally monitor the investigation and forward his report within a week.

Compol Ali therefore assured the general public, particularly,the relations of the deceased student and other affected ones of thorough investigation and that justice will be seen to have been done in the matter. 

He also advised parents and guardians to monitor their children as many strange and criminal behaviors are rampant amongst the young ones in schools these days.
