“Albani’s Killing Is Satanic And Wicked” -Kaduna Governor
Governor Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna State has described the saturday killing of renowned Islamic scholar, Adam Albani and members of his family, as “satanic and wicked”.
The governor, while reacting to the murder, assured the people that the government would work with the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators were apprehended.
“We shall leave no stone unturned in unravelling those behind the dastardly act; we shall work with the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators were arrested,” Yero said. “The killing of Sheikh Albani is an indication that despite the improvement in security situation of the state some people are still bent on creating tension in our communities.”
“Albani stood for truth; he contributed in no small ways in impacting Islamic education on the people, particularly the younger generation.”
Yero commiserates with Albani’s family, and urged the followers of the late scholar to remain calm and law abiding. He promised that their leader would not die in vain as government would ensure that the perpetrators of the killing were brought to justice.
The Kaduna state Police Command has said that it has commenced a manhunt for Albani’s murderers. Spokesman, Aminu Lawan said that all efforts would be made to apprehend the perpetrators, and urged the people of Zaria and its environs to assist the police with any useful information that would aid the investigation, and to also forestall any future recurrence.
