Ajimobi fortifies Operation Burst with additional 10 patrol vehicles

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Tuesday inaugurated another set of 10 new patrol vehicles governor for the use of the state security outfit code-named Operation Burst as part of his administration’s continued efforts towards the provision of adequate security to lives and property in the state.

The governor, while performing the inauguration ceremony at the Governor’s Office Car Park, said the patrol vehicles were aimed at fortifying the activities of Operation Burst in combating crimes and criminality in the state.

Governor Ajimobi expressed serious concern over the security situation in the country, saying there was the need for all Nigerians to be security conscious and that state governments should also accord priority to security in their various states.

He said that looking at the array of unrest, violence and brigandage happening all over the place as well as the activities of insurgents in the country, Nigerians should be watchful and cooperate with security agencies in instilling sanity.

He charged the people of the state in particular to cooperate with government and all security agencies by providing necessary information that would help in curbing criminal activities.

According to him, buildings and vehicles that had been abandoned for a very long time, bushy areas that had not been attended for a long time as well as crowded areas could pose security threat.

The Chairman of the State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Olatunde Ayeni said the provision of the operational vehicles would contribute immensely towards the reduction of crimes in the state.

Present at the occasion were the Commander of Operation Burst, Brig.-Gen. Laz Ilo, service chiefs and members of the State Executive Council.
