Sharing is caring!

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has approved the immediate payment of all outstanding salaries and allowances of members of staff of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

This was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin.

It would be recalled that the workers at the hospital had began an indefinite strike on March 31 over outstanding salaries and allowances.

Aside the immediate payment of outstanding salaries and allowances, the governor has also approved the repositioning of the hospital in order to render adequate services as a tertiary health institution.

The repositioning, according to the governor, would include a total

upgrade of the structures at the hospital and the installation of some equipment.

All these, he said, would put the hospital in a better stead to deliver first class services and fulfil its objectives as a tertiary health institution.
