Ajibola to Represent PDP in Kwara state Gubernatorial Election
Kwara South District Senator, Simeon Sule Ajibola, has emerged winner of the People’s Democratic Party governorship election in Kwara state.
The Electoral panel Chairman, Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State announced the results on Friday, declaring Senator Ajibola as the winner with 144 votes while Dele Belgore (SAN) polled 130 votes.
Others in the contest were Senator Gbemisola Rukayyat Saraki (113), Senator Mokanjuola Ajadi (107), Professor Oba Abdulraheem (58), Hon. Bio Ibrahim (45), Engineer Jani Ibrahim (27), Alhaji Hakeem Lawal (13), Deacon John Dara (four), Sunday Babalola (three) and Kale Belgore (one) while Sanusi Abdullahi got no vote.
The election had been scheduled for Monday but was postponed due to the outbreak of violence. It was conducted in the presence of fully armed security operatives.
