Air Force Confirms Pilot Death

Nigerian Air Force authority on Saturday night confirmed the death of pilot of the NAF (NAF801) F7-Ni fighter jet, which crashed while returning to the base from an interdicted mission.
A statement by Director of Public Relations, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Dele Alonge said “There was no (survivor) as the pilot of the aircraft lost his life in the unfortunate incident”.
According to the statement, the jet was “not under enemy fire when it crashed around Hong, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State at about 1623hrs (4.23 pm)”.
It was disclosed further that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal SB Abubakar has set up an investigation panel to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the accident.
