AHEAD OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION: OGUN STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE READ RIOT ACT.

The Ogun State Police Command has read riot act to members and supporters of Political Parties participating in the forthcoming Local Government election slated for 8th October, 2016.
2. The Command gave the warning today during a meeting convened by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu Psc+ with the heads of all security Agencies and representatives of all political parties at the Command Headquarters Eleweran Abeokuta.
3. In his address, the Commissioner of Police assured all and sundry that anybody who engaged in any act of thugery, hooliganism and brigandage will be dealt with decisively.
4. The Commissioner of Police stated that electoral offences such as canvassing for vote during the voting period, snatching of ballot boxes, disorderly conduct and other misdemeanor will not be tolerated. He further warned that nobody apart from the authorized electoral body should announce election results and whosoever did that will face the consequences.
5. The Commissioner of Police therefore assured residents of the State of adequate security before, during and after the Polls.
