Again,Ogun Police Arrest Cultists,Armed Robbers With Arms

The Anti Crime Patrol team attached to Agbara Division of the state command on Friday 15th August at 1400hrs as a follow up to the crises rocking the groups of the recently arrested cultists in Igbesa Agbara Ogun state and command’s dedication to flush cultists out of the State, arrested three students of ICT Polytechnic Igbesa Ogun State for threatening another student of that same institution with initiation to become a member of Vikings confraternity.

Those cultists arrested included Kenneth
Mokwunye,m,24,Adigun David,m,18, and Okwuma Obiora,m,17. The suspects had been threatening to kill a colleague of theirs for failing to join their cult group but this didn’t go well with the student who eventually raised alarm for his safety

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has given credit to the victimised student for exposing the antics and threats of the suspected cultists.

He lauded his courage and exposure and advised other students who experience such to reveal their ordeals in the hands of these devilish cultists to security operatives in order to save their lives and that of others.

In a similar development,police detectives attached to Otta and Ogijo Divisions of the command have arrested some suspected armed robbers with arms at different locations in the state.

The detectives in otta while on their routine night patrol along Lagos/abeokuta Expressway on Saturday 16th August at 1730 hrs accosted some young men at a petrol filling station and suspected their moves. In an attempt to interrogate them, the young men opened fire on the police vehicle and fled. They were pursued by the policemen and fired at their legs before they could be arrested with some locally made pistols.

The suspects are Yusuf Ahmed,m,22, of No 15,Old Ojo Road Lagos State and Sunday Oluleye,m,25,of No 55 Governors Road Oju Ore otta Ogun state; while one of them escaped with one locally made pistol. Efforts are in top gear to apprehend him.

Other items recovered from them included 4 expended and 20 live cartridges and assorted charms While the anti robbery team attached to Ogijo Division of the command arrested additional three suspects with guns in Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun state on Saturday 16th.

The suspected robbers are Afolayan Ojo,m,of 6,Hospital Rd Ogijo,Abe Muideen,m, of Ewe-Oloja Ogijo and Tunji Ojetunde,m,of 11,Jemisule Street,Omoleye area Ogijo. Items recovered from them included 2 locally made single barrel guns with 40 live cartridges.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun state CP Ikemefuna Okoye has directed that all suspects arrested and those connected with these cases be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation for necessary investigation as the command will leave no stone unturned to gat Ogun state rid of armed robbers and hoodlums.

The commissioner has promised to ever be grateful to members of the public who are sharing useful information with the police to assist in achieving all these breakthroughs.
