Adefuye: Nigeria, Ogun State Has Lost A Rare Gem -Hon. Adekoya
Honourable Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid (MHR), has described the death of the Nigeria Ambassador to the United States of America, Professor Ade Adefuye as a sad loss to the Nigerian nation, the people of Ogun State and Ijebu in particular.
Professor Adefuye, according to him, has distinguished himself not only as a Lecturer of History at the University of Lagos, but also as a respectable member of the Diplomatic Corps where high integrity is a major qualification.
In his condolence message to the family of the diplomat, Honourable Adekoya said Nigeria has lost a rare gem, one which will be very hard to replace, maintaining that Ambassador Adefuye during his life time proved himself as a worthy ambassador of Ogun State and especially Ijebu people in public service.
“I remember Professor Adefuye as the pioneer Chairman of the Gateway Industrial and Petrochemical Institute (GIPI), Oni in the Ogun Waterside Local Government council area and an illustrious son of Ijebu Igbo, in Ijebu North Local Government Council area of Ogun State”
“He will be fondly remembered for the patriotic efforts at getting Nigeria de- listed from the America watch list of terrorist nation’s following the Abdul Mutalab’s vest bomber saga, a feat which speaks to the diplomatic dexterity of the late Ambassador”.
He therefore pray for his divine repose and for God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss, saying “though Ambassador Adefuye died at 68, the nation will greatly miss him, but that we should be consoled that he died in active service that is of merit to his fatherland.”
