Abuja Explosion Update: 72 Killed, 124 In Hospitals – Officials

Nigeria Police has confirmed that 72 persons have so far lost their lives while 124 are receiving treatments at various hospitals in Abuja.
This confirmation came after the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the scene of bomb explosion in Nyanya district in the outskirt of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Frank Mba, police spokesman, disclosed the casualty figure to journalists on behalf of other security agencies at the scene of the blast.
According to him, 16 luxury buses were razed while 24 others were destroyed in the blast.
The police spokesman revealed that, information centres would be opened at all the hospitals where survivors were being attended to in order to provide information to their families.
Minister of Health, Prof Oyebuchi Chukwu also confirmed the death toll as 72.
