Abuja Blast : Buhari visit victims ….. says FG to pay bills  …..order payment of robbery victim medical bills

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday visited survivors of Friday’s night bomb attacks in Nyanya and Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the President Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

Femi said Buhari was at the Trauma Centre, National Hospital, Abuja and wished the injured victims speedy recovery.

According to the statement, the President, who was accompanied by his personal aides and  Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun reassured the survivors that the Federal Government would take full responsibility for their medical bills.

It was also revealed that, Mr President who was moved by the plight of a robbery victim directed his Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari to settle the medical bill of the young girl in the Pediatric Ward of the hospital amounting to N268, 790.

The statement added that the girl’s mother, Deborah Stephen, broke into tears on seeing the President and narrated her ordeal, saying her daughter was shot by armed robbers who raided their home and that the family could not afford the medical bills.

Dr Jafaru Momoh, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, who conducted the president round the National Hospital, expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it would help in the recovery of the patients by given them psychological sense of being valued and loved by their country.
