4 Men Arraigned Over N72.5m Fraud
Four men and others now at large, who allegedly stole N72.5 million, belonging to First City Monument Bank(FCMB) on Monday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused men are Raheem Oshinade, 40; Adeyemi Arishekola, 24; Ademola Adesanya, 35; Taiwo Adebola, 23.
Each of them is facing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Okoye, said that the offences were committed on June 9 during working hours at FCMB Ltd., on Lagos Island.
Okoye alleged that the accused persons were able to hack into some customers’ accounts from where they transferred various sums of money into other fictitious accounts opened by them in FCMB Ltd.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 285(1) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The four accused persons, however, denied the charges levied against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Ms Abimbola Awogboro, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until July 15 for mention.
