Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, sacked five ministers and carried out a cabinet reshuffle. He also nominated seven new people as ministers if cleared by the Senate. Those who were sacked are Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, Prof. Tahir Mamman SAN OON, Minister of Education, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development. The new ministers are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour & Employment, Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Minister of State Foreign Affairs. Others are Dr Jumoke Oduwole
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Suwaiba Said Ahmad PhD, Minister of State Education.

The Ministers who are assigned new portfolios are Hon Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Minister of State, Education and now Minister of State Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa who was Minister State, Health has now been made Minister of Education. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo
Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation is now Minister of State Works while Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh
formerly Minister of Niger Delta Development is now Minister of Regional Development. Others are Uba Maigari Ahmadu .Minister of State Steel Development
is now Minister of State Regional Development, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment is now Minister of State Finance. Sen. John Owan Enoh who was Minister of Sports Development is now Minister of State Trade and Investment. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of State, Police Affairs has been made Minister of Women Affairs . Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development is now the substantive Minister for Youth Development

Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako who was Minister of State for Environment has now been made the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare. In the last one year, Salako’s contribution to the Environment sector has been profoundly enormous.
