3 kidnapped Dutch nationals freed in Bayelsa
Three Dutch nationals who were kidnapped by gunmen at Letugbene in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have been released Saturday night.
Bayelsa Police Command spokesperson, Alex Akhogbe, who confirmed the development on Sunday, said the Police Commissioner, Hilary Okpara, handed the victims to the Dutch Ambassador on Saturday night at the Police Headquarters in Yenagoa.
According to him, the released Dutch nationals were afterwards taken to the Government House in Yenagoa.
The Dutch nationals who were released after spending nine days in captivity are: Erhard Leffers, Marianne Hendricks-Vos and Yandries Groenenedijk.
