21 parties, others declare support for Fayemi

 Twenty-one political parties under the aegis of Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), commercial motorcyclists and artisans in Ekiti state have declared their support for the re-election bid of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Saturday election.
The groups at a joint press conference in Ado Ekiti, said they were supporting the governor because he was the best among the candidates vying for the post.
The spokesperson of the group who is also the state chairman of CNPP, Prince Tunji Ogunsola, stressed the need for people to avoid political rancour and acrimony capable of truncating the peaceful atmosphere of the state and the nation.
He said, “We hereby appeal to all and sundry to avoid engaging in political battle that can lead to shedding of blood, maiming and killing of innocent citizens.”
While recalling various achievements of Governor Fayemi since inception, commended the government for the peace being enjoyed in the state.
Mr Ademo Olu Martins who is the state chairman of Commercial Motorcycle Operators of Nigeria, said the decision to support governor Fayemi for second term was a collective decision of all members of his association.
According to him, those following other candidates are not genuine members of the association, which he is the chairman.
Political parties at the press conference said they had instruction from their national headquarters to support Dr. Fayemi for re-election.
Other political parties and their representatives at the ceremony are Prince Ayo Adelabu of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Victor Akinola of Advanced Congress Democrats (ACD) and Mr. Tola Oke of Citizens Popular Party (CPP).
