Tribunal Upheld Melaye Election

Kogi State Election Tribunal sitting in Lokoja this morning upheld the election of Senator Dino Melaye.
Melaye victory had been challenged by the former holder of the seat, Smart Adeyemi, who of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
The petition had earlier been dismissed on a technical ground that it was filed out of time.
But the Federal Appeal court ruled that the case should be heard anew.
Senator Melaye tweeted the news of his triumph on his tweeter @dino_melaye this morning at 11:41am thus: “Praise God. Senator Dino Melaye’s election upheld and Senator Smart Adeyemi’s petition dismissed for lack of merit.”
