President Buhari had on Tuesday while receiving list of confirmed ministers from Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki gave the indication that some of the new ministers would have to operate without portfolio.
According to the President, the country presently could not afford to have an elaborate federal cabinet.
His words: “The constitution certainly said there must be one member of the cabinet from all the states. The constitution did not say I must have 36 ministries.
“I will exploit that detail because of the economic imperative to have less ministers”.
The retreat, according to presidency is to enlighten the ministers about the situation at hand, what they should expect and how to tackle it.
