Pastor, robbery suspects, cultist paraded in Lagos

Lagos State Police Command on Friday paraded a pastor and other 35 suspects over their alleged involvement in various criminal activities in the State.
Among those paraded by the state police boss, Mr Fatai Owoseni arrested are Pastor Titus Onwuchekwa of the Presbyterian Church, Umuahia in Abia State and Osas Felix from Edo State who specialized in buying stolen vehicles from robbers and selling to unsuspecting people.
Other are Bola Salami, 30, Opeyemi Aregbesola, 28, Chibuike Umeh, 22, and Ndibe Samuel.
Addressing the pressmen, COMPOL Owoseni, said, police recovered an unregistered Toyota 4 Runner SUV, Toyota Camry with registration number AAA 391 AA, Toyota Camry with number FKJ 441 DV, Lexus Rx30 with number LSR 520 RF, Toyota Highlander SUV with number LSR 492 DX and Mitsubishi Pajero SUV with number SMK 484 DS.
Also paraded are suspected cultist alleged to had been terrorizing members of the public.
They are Oluwaseyi Adetifa, Nofiu Ramoni, Saka Apalara, Ahmed Apalara and Waisu Alaparara said to have been arrested at their hide-out in Igando.
According to the police boss, twelve guns, six axes and four cutlasses were recovered from them.
Oweseni told journalists that the rate of crime and other criminal activities was gradually declining in the state and that his men were able to achieve these within two weeks, between 7 January to 21 January, 2016 due to human capacity of the force and the quantum of logistics and moral support given to the Command by the State government.
He said further that the command has taken certain measures for effective security, one of such was permanent phone calls to various area commanders and police divisions for information dissemination between the police and public.
The crime burster during the parade unveiled the new police uniform for FSARS for easy identification when on operation in the state.
