‎Do People Oriented Project, Buhari says to Govs

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday told the state governors to embark on projects that would meet the immediate need of the people.

Buhari who made this statement on Monday at the inauguration of the National Economic Council at the Council Chamber of Presidential Villa in Abuja also challenged them to explore efficient means of how to offsetting all unpaid salaries of staff, which have brought untold hardship to thousands of families.

He told the governors to cooperate on projects such as interstate, feeder. Roads, soil erosion, desertification and other developmental ‎programmes.

According to Mr President, the Federal Government, on its part, would abide by the provisions of Sections 80 and 162 of the Constitution and ensure more accountability, transparency and integrity in the Distribution of the Federation Account.

The inaugurated NEC, which constitutionally is expected to be chaired by the Vice-President comprises all the 36 state governors and ministers who are to be represented now by Permanent Secretaries.
