Audu Died A Courageous Politician – Buhari

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has described late Mr Abubakar Audu, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the inconclusive Kogi State governorship election as an immensely courageous politician.
The Nigerian President, who is attending the Third Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Tehran, Iran, according to a statement of condolence issued by his SSA Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said he received the news of the death of Abubakar Audu with an “enormous sense of shock”.
President Buhari who described Audu as a talented politician, a loving family head and a respected community leader condoled with his family, the government and people of Kogi state and all members of the party.
He also condoled with men and women who stood with Audu in his bid to return as the Governor of Ekiti State.
“He ran as the favourite in the election, as the early results have clearly shown,” he said.
President prayed to Allah to repose the soul of Abubakar Audu and give his family, the people of Kogi State and the APC members all over Nigeria the fortitude to bear this loss.
Audu who died on Sunday the same day the governorship election he contest in was declared inconclusive by the electoral body after the collation of results has been buried in his home town in Ofu Local Government Area on Monday.
