APC Accepts Saraki, Dogara at Reconciliation meeting

Nigeria ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has accepted the leadership of the National Assembly, although peace talks are still in progress to resolve the crisis.
Speaking at the end of a reconciliation meeting, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, who is also the governors’ forum Chairman revealed this while speaking at the end of reconciliation meeting of the party.
According to him, discussions were still ongoing to finally resolve the National Assembly leadership crisis but, the factions in the National Assembly have agreed to work together to reach amicable solutions.
He said, “I’m happy to announce to all of you that the peace at the National Assembly is at sight. We have had discussions and we have all agreed to accept peace.
“Both the Senate President and the Speaker and distinguished Senator Lawan and Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila will work together for the unity of the National Assembly and for the progress of our party.
“The party has accepted the leadership of the National Assembly of the Senate President and the Speaker of the Federal House”.
The party crisis started when it failed in its attempt to impose anointed Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The crisis became worse when both chambers ignored the party’s nominees for principal officers in the Senate and gone ahead to appoint its preferred officers.
