Akwa Ibom Guber: Election Petitions Tribunal Orders Re-run In 18 LGs

Akwa Ibom Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday ordered a re-run election in 18 local government areas of the state.
Giving its verdict on Wednesday, the Tribunal said it was satisfied that there were discrepancies during the governorship election held on April 11.
The Tribunal then ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct re-run elections in 18 out of the 31 local government councils in the state.
Speaking further, the tribunal stated that the 1st respondent won valid votes in 13 of the 31 local governments in the state.
No date has been fixed for the election re-run.
